Chad Energy Storage Power Station Project
Chad Iriba 2.5MW/7.776MWh distributed photovoltaic + energy storage project landed in the Iriba region of the Republic of Chad in central Africa, using “photovoltaic + energy storage” integrated design, with a total installed capacity of 2.5 MW, supporting the 7.776 MWh lithium iron phosphate storage system, the goal is to solve the problem of local power shortages, and at the same time enhance the stability of the power grid to consume energy. Sunny Power signed a 650MW PV project in Brazil in 2022, and also signed a 500MW distribution agreement with Brazil's SOL+Distribuidora last year.On January 12, BYD and Spain's Grenergy reached a procurement agreement for a 1.1GWh energy storage system for the world's largest energy storage project, the 4.1GWh energy storage project in Chile's Atacama Oasis, supplying it with 2,136 Magic Cubes. The research findings indicate that: 1) Uncertainty in the external environment significantly delays investment in charging stations, highlighting the importance of policies to ensure relative stability in the investment environment; 2) The waiting time for charging station investment is determined not only by external environmental uncertainty but also by initial returns, suggesting that ensuring a minimum return for charging stations is an effective way to incentivize investment; 3) Whether energy storage investment is advantageous depends on the additional investment amount and the marginal contribution per unit of electricity.
