The TIDA-00476 TI Design consists of a single DC-DC power stage, which can work as a synchronous buck converter or a synchronous boost converter enabling bidirectional power flow between a DC power source and energy storage system.
The study concludes that the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) efficiency of the bidirectional energy storage photovoltaic grid-connected inverter designed was as high as 99.9%. The distortion rate of the grid-connected current waveform was within 2% and the DC current component was less than 0.5%.
Additionally, the bidirectional converter has protective features that enhance operating security and shield the energy storage system from harm. The suggested arrangement is thoroughly assessed, with its effectiveness measured against a variety of criteria.
The versatile bidirectional power supply is an integration of two systems: a DC-DC synchronous buck converter for charging a lead acid battery and a DC-DC synchronous boost converter for driving a CC-CV DC load from the lead acid battery. Control of the system is managed through an onboard MSP430F5132 microcontroller.
